Leaves are falling, air is cooling, change is in the air.
Family life is back in full swing, and cold and flu season are upon us.
As we spend more time in doors amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, cold and flu germs touch many parts of the home. Come to the shop to pick up chemical free cleaning products that give peace of mind and prevention all in one.
Here some ways to help keep your house healthy during cold and flu season:
- Wipe All Touchpoints: Some viruses can only live for a short time on surfaces, while others can linger for hours or even days. “Touchpoints” are places your hands (and germs) go. Wipe doorknobs light switches, drawer handles, cupboards, refrigerator doors, faucets and toilet handles, remotes, computers, phones. Basically, think of all the places your family members regularly touch and clean them daily. Use a soft cloth or tissue on sensitive devices.
- Focus on the Bathroom and Kitchen: Clean sinks in these areas at least once a day, as these high traffic areas harbor the most germs.
- Use a Sponge: Along one of our chemical-free cleansers, use a sponge to wipe down surfaces. Make sure to keep the sponge clean by either boiling it in water for 5 minutes, or running the sponge in the dishwasher cycle. Be sure to use the dishwasher’s heat cycle to thoroughly sanitize the sponge.
- Keep Hands & Feet Clean: Nothing prevents infection and the spread of illness quite as well as hand washing. Teach kids to wash underneath their nails and above their wrists. Did you know that a thorough hand washing job should last as long as it takes to sing the Happy Birthday twice?
